Handmade Custom Leather Sheath for Ferro Rod EDC (may also fit some flashlights, battons, and other gear)
Backyard Campfires, Campers, Bushcrafters, and Hunters will love this handy leather sheath.
These sheaths fit up to a 2 inch wide belt.
These sheaths hold 1/2" diameter ferro rods of various lengths.
We can make the bottom open or closed.
By leaving the bottom of sheath open, it can accomodate various rod lengths.
A closed sheath is better used for a ferro rod with a lanyard so it doesn't fall through. The closed sheath can also be used with a ferro rod that has a handle. We offer a 5 inch closed sheath, which is the same length as the Ryan Special but does not have the high back. If you need a longer or shorter closed sheath, just let us know how much of the rod needs sheathed and that will determine the length of the sheath and may add extra charge for custom size.
The Ryan Special is a closed "high back" sheath that holds a 1/2" diameter ferro rod. The 6 inch fits up to a 6 inch ferro rod with about 5 inches sheathed and 1 inch of rod exposed above the sheath. The 5 inch fits up to a 5 inch fod with about 4 inches sheathed and 1 inch exposed. If you don't see a size that fits your gear, let us know and we can custom make the size you need.
The addition of a high back adds an upgrade for the extra materials used. The high back acts as a buffer between the rod and the body if the ferro rod does not have a handle, but instead might be used with a parracord lanyard. A paracord lanyard on your ferro rod can be used with either the low back or highback styles. It is really personal preference as to which style you choose.
Both styles of sheaths could also accomodate various styles of flashlights and battons. The option below is for the maglight mini flashlight. Just let me know if you need a larger or smaller sheath for your flashlight and we can work out a custom order for you.
Sheaths are sold with optional flag stamp or without a stamp. Be sure to note your preference if you want the sheath stamped and which flag (USA or Canada) you would like added.
